ABOUT ME

Fun facts that make me a great trainer and coach......
I first cut my personal development teeth in the military, whilst serving as a Royal Air Force Officer. My posting as a Motivational Outreach Team Leader, helping young adults to develop their confidence, resilience, team working ability and other key life skills, not only changed their lives but changed mine too. From then on, I knew that helping people to reach their potential was my calling.
I need music in my life! Before joining the military, I did a music degree and ever since have embraced every musical opportunity on offer. I'll play anything, with anyone: folk in the pub; jazz in the club; classical in the concert hall. I even have another business, providing live entertainment for residential homes and events. Proudest musical moment - making an EP, with the help of a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign, with my Welsh/Hungarian/Bristolian folk-fusion band, Ember!

I LOVE what I do. I love the challenge. I love the light bulb moments. I love seeing the realisation (and sometimes tears) in people's eyes when they realise they CAN do it. And every day I learn as much from my participants as they do from me. What's not to love?
I often get new clients by accident! Imagine, a participant comes along with their support worker. To their surprise, the support worker gets as much from the course as their participant. So I run a course for the support workers. Management see the benefits, they buy in too........ Why? Because what I do is universal. It doesn't matter who you are, where you're going or where you've been. We all have the same human needs and we all sometimes need someone to show us the way.

I wasn't a natural at all this personal development stuff. I've procrastinated, floundered, and experienced immense highs and debilitating lows, like the best of them. I've had to learn through experience how to nurture my own wellbeing, mental health, resilience, motivation. It's taken time and effort and, like most people, I'm still a work in progress. But I don't have to tell my clients this - I don't need to. Because empathy is a feeling, often unsaid. They just know........
I stack a mean skip! Relevance? Whatever I do, I do to the best of my ability. That means making my courses more innovative and imaginative. Thinking outside the box. Forever developing and regenerating. Never standing still. And not being afraid to be different (in fact that's the aim)!

So that's me! All the above, and so much more. An eclectic blend of knowledge (yes, I've got the credentials and qualifications too) experience, humour, creativity and a passion to make a difference.
How about you?
